Facebook Gives Green Signal To Gambling

At last, the most popular social networking site is now gambling friendly. Facebook recently gave gambling operators something to smile about when they relaxed their advertising guidelines and allowed ads for gambling, including online gambling, to be promoted on Facebook. Gambling ads were prohibited under a long-standing policy of the company. But now, things have taken a drastic change and Facebook will allow many online gambling facilities to advertise on their website. Soon enough you will find ads for online poker sites, online casino games, sportsbooks and other online gambling activities. There are however special rules set in place to prohibit online gambling ads from targeting US customers.

Facebook has also laid out strict rules that require advertisers to comply with the local laws, where Facebook is being used. And Facebook is being used pretty much everywhere so they have come up with a list of guidelines that state who the target audience must be, based on the countries they live in. Although Facebook’s decision to allow online gambling ads has been a happy event, online gambling operators and affiliates are going to have to pay through the nose to advertise on Facebook. Once they overcome all the legal issues and local laws they have to cough up a lump sum of at least $30,000 – which is the minimum advertising campaign.
